Bloomie Sweater

Brief overview / tips:

The sweater is knitted in the round from the top down using a single strand of yarn. It starts with full brioche, followed by colorwork, and is finished with full brioche. The fit is wide and somewhat cropped, with drop shoulders and a high neck.

The colorwork has some long floats. Be sure to catch the floats frequently, at least every 3 stitches. You can also choose to embroider the pattern using duplicate stitch on the rounds with very long floats, or throughout the entire colorwork section.

The model is wearing size 3, usually wears a size M, and has approximately 30 cm of positive ease.

Yarn requirements:

The sweater is knitted using 1 strand of Pickles Tjukk Merino (200 m/100 g).

Main color: 450 (500) 550 (600) 650 (700) 750 g

Colorwork color: 100 (100) 100 (100) 100 (100) 100 g

Suggested needles:

4 mm, 5 mm, and 6.5 mm circular needles, 80 or 100 cm, if you want to use the magic loop technique.

If you are not using magic loop, you will need all needle sizes in 40, 60, and 80 cm lengths.

Gauge:

Full brioche, 5 mm needles: 16 stitches x 17 rows = 10 x 10 cm

Full brioche, 4 mm needles: 17 stitches x 21 rows = 10 x 10 cm

Colorwork, 6.5 mm needles: 16 stitches x 18 rows = 10 x 10 cm
