Brief overview / tips:

This is a sweater with a roomy, square fit, a slightly long yoke, and wide sleeves.

It comes in only 3 sizes (double sizes). This is because the pattern repeat creates a 12 cm difference in bust circumference between each size. The sleeves have the same number of stitches in all sizes.

The long yoke means that the sleeves are shorter than usual.

The sweater is knitted top-down, making it easy to knit both the body and sleeves longer if desired.

It is first knitted back and forth for the neck, and then in the round with raglan increases and colorwork. Finally, a placket is knitted to cover the zipper on the inside.

It can be knitted with one color for each pattern repeat, as in the original, or with just one colorwork color.

Finished garment measurements:

Bust circumference: 104 (116) 128 cm

Total length (excluding neck): 58 (62) 62 cm

Sleeve length: 30 (39) 37 cm

You can knit the sweater longer if desired.

Remember to allow for additional black yarn if you make it longer.

The model is wearing size 2 and usually wears a size M, with approximately 30 cm of positive ease.

Yarn requirements:

The sweater is knitted using Fivel from Rauma Garn, 100 m/50 g.

Hand-dyed Fivel is purchased from garnbar.no.

Black – 36: 400 (450) 550 g

Hand-dyed, Thyra light: 50 g all sizes

Mint green melange – 301: 50 g all sizes

Lavender – 05: 50 g all sizes

Yellow – 14: 50 g all sizes

Pink – 13: 50 g all sizes

You will also need a 20 cm zipper in your desired color.

If you have leftover Fivel that you would like to use for the colorwork, you will need approximately 20–30 g for each border. This does not include the skull border; see the specified amount.

If you only want to use 1 color for the colorwork, you will need approximately 150 (150) 200 g.

Suggested needles:

4 mm circular needle, any length

5 mm circular needles, 80 cm and 40 cm
