Brief overview / tips:

This is a chunky version of the Lyseren Retro Sweater, which was the first sweater I designed.

The sweater is knitted bottom-up with raglan decreases. There is colorwork across almost the entire sweater. It is very important to make sure that areas with many closely spaced color changes do not become too tight. Pay attention to the notes next to the charts, which indicate when it is recommended to change needle size.

Also pay close attention to your gauge. If you change to 6.5 mm needles, make sure that your row gauge also matches. If you knit too many rows, the yoke will become too long.

Sizes:

XS (S) M (L) XL (XXL)

Finished garment measurements:

Bust circumference, approx.: 90 (100) 109 (116) 123 (130) cm

Total length, approx.: 66 (69) 72 (75) 78 (80) cm

Sleeve length, approx.: 48 cm in all sizes

The models in the photos are wearing one size larger than their usual size. If you want an oversized fit, choose one size larger.

Yarn requirements:

The sweater is knitted using Alpaca Bris by Viking Garn (approx. 150 m/50 g).

302 – Natural: 200 (200) 250 (250) 300 (300) g

308 – Brown: 50 (50) 50 (100) 100 (100) g

335 – Green: 50 (50) 100 (100) 100 (100) g

330 – Light green: 50 (50) 50 (50) 50 (50) g

357 – Copper: 50 (50) 50 (50) 50 (50) g

359 – Apricot: 50 (50) 50 (50) 50 (50) g

Suggested needles:

You will need to change needle sizes as you work. It is strongly recommended to go up half or a full needle size when knitting the colorwork sections. Pay attention to the notes next to the charts and the instructions in the text.

Ribbing and neck: 4 mm needles, 80 cm and 40 cm circular needles, and double-pointed needles, or use the magic loop technique.

Colorwork/stockinette stitch: 6 mm and 6.5 mm needles, 80 cm circular needle, and double-pointed needles, or use the magic loop technique.

Gauge:

18 stitches = 10 cm in colorwork on 6 mm and 6.5 mm needles.
