This is a crochet pattern (PDF) only.

Brief overview / tips:

The entire bag is crocheted using two strands of yarn held together. It is worked as one long rectangle. An edge of single crochet stitches is worked along both short sides before the rectangle is folded in half and the sides are crocheted together.

Finished size:

The finished bag measures approximately 46 x 40 cm, excluding the handles.

Yarn requirements:

You will need approximately 450 g of cotton yarn (80–100 m/50 g).

Alternatively, you can use several thinner strands held together.

Crochet hook:

4.5 mm crochet hook.

You will also need scissors, a tape measure, and a needle for weaving in the ends.

Gauge:

15 single crochet stitches x 22 rows = approximately 10 x 10 cm.

You can buy handles or twist your own, as I have done.

On my Instagram profile, @martejacobsenstudio, you can find a reel showing how I made and attached the handles.

This is also explained and demonstrated in the “The Beachy Bag” highlight (in English).

Next on your needles?
